2 Shots, 1 Key Pass & Spurs Man Again Makes A Point As He Takes MotM

Tottenham Hotspur were looking to put a bad week behind them after the Bayern Munich disappointment in the Champions League and although there are no easy games in the Premier League, plenty of fans would’ve backed the squad to show a reaction as we travelled to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Unfortunately for the travelling fans, it was only going to be another day of disappointment as the hosts took the lead three minutes in, and we saw an injury to goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. Brighton added another two goals and we simply had no reply with a very poor performance.

Statistics website Whoscored failed to give a single player a rating of seven or above, and our Man of the Match according to them, was late second half substitute Lucas Moura.

The 27-year-old notched up a score of 6.73 despite only being on the pitch for the final 18 minutes of the game and despite only having 16 touches of the ball, he still managed to register more shots on target than anyone else in the game.

Completing the poor top five after that one was Paulo Gazzaniga (6.63), Toby Alderweireld (6.50), Son Heung-Min (6.44) and Moussa Sissoko/Erik Lamela who shared 6.41.

Meh – I think Mauricio Pochettino’s body language in his after game interviews said everything.
