‘Got to score’, ‘The turning point’ – A lot of Tottenham fans were gutted at huge Anfield moment

|

Beating Liverpool at Anfield is no easy task. The Reds have put together a seriously good run on home soil and the last time the Kop witnessed a Premier League defeat was way back in April 2017 when a Christian Benteke double saw them lose 2-1 (Transfermarkt).

However, the Lilywhites had a fantastic opportunity to do what Palace did and win away at Liverpool. Having gone in at half-time 1-0 up thanks to Harry Kane’s 1st-minute goal, the teams came back out for the second half and Heung-Min Son was denied Spurs’ second by the crossbar.

Paulo Gazzaniga’s long ball upfield to the South Korean was met brilliantly as Son raced onto it, rounded Alisson Becker before hitting the bar from the tight angle, and when it happened it seemed that a lot of Tottenham fans knew the writing was on the wall, as that second goal would have been huge.

The fans, as you can see, all seemed to know that the Son miss was a turning point, and if it had gone in anything could have happened in the remaining 42 minutes at Anfield.
