German giants remain keen on signing Harry Kane

|

Following previous links in the summer (read here), Bayern Munich will reportedly continue to pursue a possible move for Spurs striker Harry Kane.

That is according to 90 min, who state the England skipper is ‘one of their main transfer targets’ as they look to find a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who left in the summer to join Barcelona.

The German champions have not hidden their admiration for the player, with Bayern Munich boss Julien Naglesmann singing the striker’s praises back in July (via Daily Mail):

‘He’s very expensive that’s the problem – but brilliant player, one of two or three who can play as a centre forward [as well as a] No 10, but he’s very strong, brilliant with [his] head and both feet.’

‘He could score a lot in the Bundesliga, I don’t know the price, but it’s really tough for Bayern Munich. We’ll see what happens in the future.’

Despite Spurs struggling recently, Kane has remained on point – bagging 15 goals in the league so far this season, a total only topped by Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (via Transfermarkt).

With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, it may be decision time for Kane this summer as he may look to move on from the Lilywhites – to fulfil his trophy ambitions.

Saying all this I can’t actually see this potential move to Germany coming to fruition – Kane seems absolutely desperate to break Alan Shearer’s record as the all-time Premier League top goalscorer, meaning he would likely want to stay in England. That being said I can see Manchester United potentially making a move for him in the summer, as the Red Devils look for a more long-term option in the number 9 position.
