Player Ratings: Spurs 0-2 Arsenal

|

For the first time in nine years Arsenal have managed to do the double over Spurs, winning 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Most fans before the game expected the Gunners to outclass Spurs and that’s what unfolded, with Spurs struggling to live with the league leaders all night long. Match report here

Here’s how the players ranked:

Manager rating- 4

Totally outclassed by his managerial counterpart. Conte’s persistence with 3-4-3 seemed extremely odd, especially when Arsenal’s overload in midfield was so blatant.

Hugo Lloris- 2

Yet another high-profile mistake by Frenchman. Arsenal’s first goal was an embarrassing goal to concede on Hugo’s behalf. He seemed nervous the entire game, constantly putting his defenders on edge. Time for the Frenchman to leave.

Matt Doherty- 3

Didn’t really have much to do with the majority of play coming down the opposite side. However, I can’t remember Doherty actually winning a header in the game, he was constantly getting out jumped by Zinchenko.

Cristian Romero- 4

Tried to up the intensity of the game with some strong challenges but Arsenal’s forwards were to0 sharp, leading to him being booked in the first half. Seemed like he was actively trying to get sent off at times.

Eric Dier- 4

Eddie Nketiah gave Dier a rough afternoon, constantly getting to the ball before the centre half. Slow, lethargic and poor on the ball. Extremely poor from Dier.

Clement Lenglet- 4

Yet again the Frenchman struggled in 1v1, with Saka skinning him multiple times. Did not add anything going forward either. Simply not good enough for this level.

Ryan Sessegnon- 4

I think Sessegnon will be seeing Saka in his nightmares tonight. Saka mixed it up going short or in behind, constantly giving Sess a tough time. He did however come close to scoring in the second half with Ramsdale saving his low driven effort.

Pape Matar Sarr-6

Arguably one of Tottenham’s best performer of the night. Sarr seemed to be the only one that had intensity and drive to his game. Done himself no harm, in what was his first ever Premier League start.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg- 5

Poor from the Dane today. Lacked real invention with his passes. Spurs desperately need someone who can unlock a defence with a pass. Looks slightly lost without Bentancur by his side.

Dejan Kulusevski- 6

Managed to get the better of Zinchenko in the second half. However when he did beat the Ukrainian, his final ball flattered to deceive at the key moments.

Heung-Min Son- 3

A totally absent performance yet again from Sonny. Can’t believe he wasn’t actually taken off. Provided absolutely nothing going forward barring his shot that was well saved by Ramsdale in the first half.

Harry Kane- 6

Had to feed off scraps most of the night. Had two good efforts smartly saved by Ramsdale who was excellent in the Arsenal goal.

Subs:

Richarlison- 5

Ivan Perisic- 5

Yves Bissouma- 5

Bryan Gil- 5

Ben Davies- 5
