Kyle Walker-Peters was handed his first Premier League start of the season against Bournemouth on Boxing Day and picked up three assists as Tottenham won 5-0 at Wembley. He featured at right-back and had a hand in three of his side’s five goals to give Mauricio Pochettino a selection headache ahead of their clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers on December 29.
The 21-year-old has spent the campaign on the periphery but was given a rare outing in the Champions League against Barcelona after Serge Aurier and Kieran Trippier were both unavailable. He impressed against the Catalans and was finally rewarded with an outing in the league two weeks later. Walker-Peters didn’t disappoint, and supporters were full of praise for his performance.
A great game for him #COYS

Despite stiff competition for a starting place from Aurier and Trippier, Walker-Peters stands a good chance playing under Pochettino given the Tottenham manager’s propensity to develop young talent. Walker-Peters was already handed a new deal in December, but his Bournemouth performance will further prove to Pochettino that he can be a good servant for Spurs.
The England u21 international has only made four appearances in the Tottenham first-team this season, but more could follow in the second-half of the campaign.
