“At The End Of The Season I’ll Talk In A Way That Maybe We Fight For Big Things” – Poch Remains Grounded After Latest Spurs Win

|

Tottenham Hotspur have shown another side to their game under manager Mauricio Pochettino in the Premier League season of 2018/19 and we’ve learned how to win ugly. We can still win with class though and that was again shown in the match earlier today against Bournemouth.

Having hit six past Everton in our last game, we went and hit another five past Eddie Howe’s side at Wembley Stadium to lift ourselves into second spot in the top tier table and Spurs just keep plodding on.

Goals on the day came from Christian Eriksen, a Son Heung-Min brace, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane and I can’t imagine anyone would have a grumble after registering eleven goals in the last two matches alone.

It was also five wins on the spin for Poch’s side but youngster Kyle Walker-Peters deserves a special mention here as he grabbed assists for the opening three goals in the game.

Speaking to the BBC following the end of the game, a delighted Pochettino explained.

“The effort was fantastic. To have one day less after Everton, I am very pleased with the performance. It is important to manage confidence in the right way, victory make us believe. Of course, think step-by-step and be ready to arrive at the next game in the best condition. We are only halfway to end of the season, we need to replicate the same second-half of the season. It is up to us, if we show the same quality and same belief and behave in the same way, then maybe at end of season I’ll talk in a way that maybe we fight for big things.”
