European giants plot swoop for Tottenham defender lauded by Pochettino – Report

|

According to an exclusive report from Football Insider, European giants Paris-Saint Germain are plotting a swoop for Tottenham defender Danny Rose this summer – with the defender not expected to play for us again.

Rose, who is currently on loan at Newcastle United, made 12 appearances for us in the Premier League before opting for a temporary switch to St. James’ Park – with manager Jose Mourinho deciding to play Ben Davies and Jan Vertonghen over Rose when appointed to succeed previous boss Mauricio Pochettino.

This apparently resulted in a training ground bust up between the pair, with Rose eventually moving to Newcastle on loan in order to gain more playing time as Euro 2020 loomed.

Now, with Rose seemingly out of favour at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, despite being admired by Pochettino in the past, PSG have put the Englishman on their transfer wish list along with one other Premier League left-back.

Should we sell Rose to PSG?

Yes

No

A french source told Football Insider that the club sent scouts to watch Rose for Newcastle back in February and March, with the player currently entering the last 12 months of his Spurs contract.

Since joining Newcastle, the England international has started four league games under Steve Bruce according to WhoScored, averaging 1.4 tackles whilst making 1.2 clearances per game in that time.

By comparison, Davies, Vertonghen and Japhet Tanganga have averaged superior tackling rates and a higher amount of interceptions in the league – potentially highlighting the fact letting Rose depart for pastures new may be the right call.

Indeed, if PSG do come calling, it could be a smart idea to profit off the unsettled 29-year-old before he potentially leaves as a free agent.
