Djed Spence’s destination decided – as youngster secures loan move

|

After being chased by numerous clubs (more on that here), Djed Spence’s destination has finally been decided with the 22 year-old set to join Rennes on loan for the remainder of the season.

Spence, who has struggled to break into the Spurs first-team this season, will link up with fellow Spurs loanee Joe Rodon – who is currently half way through a season long loan spell at Rennes.

The wing-back’s loan move does not include any clause or buy option – which was a key factor for Tottenham in any deal as the club believe Spence has a long-term future at the club as he continues to develop (via Football London).

Spence reportedly had offers from a host of top European clubs, with Spanish side Atletico Madrid and Italian side Sassuolo both tabling offers for the wing-back – according to Football London.

According to Alasdair Gold (via HITC), Spence reportedly rejected the advances of Atletico Madrid as he was unsure if he would be getting regular game time and wanted to join a side that could ensure him minutes on the pitch – with Spence believing Rennes could provide that.

Shame. Fare more talent than Doherty,Sessegnon, Emerson Royal, Tanganga, Sanchez.
Conte does not like young players.
Get rid of the others plus Conte.
