One of the big links of the summer on Tottenham Hotspur’s rumour mill was a potential move for OGC nice right back Youcef Atal.
The 23-year-old Algerian international captured the imagination of a number in the fanbase as we looked to strengthen the right side of defence and he’s continued to impress in 2019/20, with 14 appearances to his name for the French Ligue 1 side, and a return of one goal and one assist so far.
Sadly for those Spurs fans who were hoping that with ongoing right back concerns at the club, we would go back for the lad in January, his club have now confirmed that he has picked up an injury and will likely spend a lengthy spell out on the sidelines.
With us looking to freshen up the first team squad, and Mourinho himself quashing all thoughts of a bolstered transfer kitty in the New Year, whilst some doubt that we would now take a risk on an injured player, others felt it was the opportunity to get him at a more bargain price.
This actually makes him more likely to come in, as Levy will see a bargain opportunity

This club is so cursed that even our transfer targets get injured now

He will fit in perfectly now then

So now he's even cheaper?

Given the ongoing speculation linking us with Atal was hardly concrete, I’m not so sure where the belief has come from that he was a top target.
Is Atal's Signing Now More Likely?
Yes, Bargain Price
No, We Need Them Fit
