According to a report from ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is keen on snapping up Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence – and the north east outfit are likely to ask for a fee in the region of around £10 million for his signature.
Spence, who has played 20 Championship games for Boro this season, also featured against Spurs during our 2-1 FA Cup victory back in January – with the defender having a hard time up against Erik Lamela on the flank.
Who should Spurs sign?
Djed Spence
Max Aarons
According to SofaScore, Spence lost 6/9 ground duels up against the Argentine despite completing 100% of his passes to teammates – being substituted 15 minutes from full time with Marcus Tavernier taking his place.
As a result, many Lilywhites have flocked to debate swooping for the youngster who is a ‘better prospect than Aarons‘ – with some keen on signing the teenager whilst others hold reservations.

We definitely need to add a young English right-back into our ranks, so I’d be happy with this. £10M seems a bit steep, though.
