Tottenham fans were given some surprising news on Tuesday evening. As the FA Cup 5th round ties were underway, the Lilywhites tweeted out the shock news that their Kenyan midfielder, Victor Wanyama, had left the club and signed for Montreal Impact in MLS (Tottenhamhotspur.com).
From the goal in our last game at White Hart Lane to THAT strike at Anfield, thank you for providing us with some incredible memories @VictorWanyama. #THFC #COYS pic.twitter.com/ffOZOrRtvQ

The former Celtic and Southampton man turned out on 97 occasions for the Lilywhites, scoring seven goals (Transfermarkt), including a bullet header in Spurs’ final ever game at White Hart Lane and an unforgettable strike from long-range at Anfield during a memorable 2-2 draw.
The Lilywhites have got some amazing memories of Wanyama and his time at the club, but it’s now all come to an end with the Kenyan just 28-years-old, and you can bet that the supporters will be keeping a keen eye on their former man as he travels to Montreal to play under Thierry Henry.
