“A Man Can Dream” “Things That Aren’t Happening” – Former Spurs Man Has His Eyes On A Future Role At The Club

Maybe others know better, but this certainly came out of left-field for me last night as I was browsing round news from the day – former Tottenham Hotspur player Mido fancies his chances of managing us in the future.

With Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Thierry Henry all recently entering the world of management after hanging up their boots, maybe that’s where his idea came from but the now 35-year-old seemed genuinely serious when he told the Soccer AM podcast (via Sky Sports).

“I would love to manage Tottenham one day, that’s my dream – to manage in the Premier League and to manage Tottenham.”

He did qualify his statement by talking about the ‘route’ to management and learning the ropes as an assistant first and he was talking three or four years down the line, but still, after 18 odd months with us and only making over 50 appearances owing to substitute showings, his semi-reasonable goal return leaves most fans with memories from back then rather irked.

I think the responses on social media will sum up the thoughts of many.

The irony being, his best football probably came at White Hart Lane in all fairness.
