£11.7m-rated talent would thrive under Pochettino at Tottenham if he were signed – Opinion

Spanish media outlet El Desmarque have continued to push Tottenham Hotspur with a move for Robert Skov this summer.

Earlier in the year, the FC Copenhagen winger had been linked with a move to Spurs when Sky Sports reported that we had an interest in him and had been watching him on numerous occasions.

And, now it seems we are prepared to move forward and up our efforts in trying to sign the Denmark international as El Desmarque claim we have made contact with his club about a possible switch.

Indeed, we feel Skov could be an excellent addition for Mauricio Pochettino and his Tottenham side moving forward if he were to arrive in north London as he would bring plenty to the squad despite still being incredibly young.

The 23-year-old had a stellar campaign in his homeland with his club as he consistently found the back of the net and proved to be one of the most lethal attackers in the Danish Superliga – which is pretty remarkable considering that he is not a striker and operates as a winger on the right-hand side of the pitch.

The Copenhagen wideman managed to net an incredible 32 goals and provide his team-mates with ten assists in his 48 appearances across all competitions last season (Transfermarkt). Although that is a goal threat that any side would relish having in their team, and despite Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura’s best efforts recently, Spurs would benefit as we have not had a player who can take the pressure off of Harry Kane’s shoulders with a contribution like that.

Obviously the Danish Superliga is at a completely different level to the Premier League, however, Skov has shown he has the quality to progress and develop further with his game whilst playing for his club and country.

Having played in the Europa League with Copenhagen, he is currently starring for the Denmark Under-21 side in their European Championship tournament and has been impressive in the group stages. According to statistics collected by WhoScored, he has netted once and has shown he is not scared of having an attempt at goal as he averages 4.3 shots per game in the ongoing competition.

Not only willing to shoot and take all the glory, but the 23-year-old is also more than capable of creating chances for his team-mates as he has recorded an average of 2 key passes per game and has completed two dribble attempts successfully so far (WhoScored).

But, it is not just his overall game that could make him an exceptional fit at Spurs if we were to try and sign him.

As Sky Sports mentioned in their scouting report of Skov, he fits the profile of what Pochettino looks for in a player and has a history of purchasing young talent to develop, whilst having Christian Eriksen already in the side could help the transition period all the more smoother.

It will be interesting to see what Tottenham decide to do this summer in regards to the Danish youngster, but we think he could thrive and we should look to do everything we can to bring the £11.7million-rated winger (Transfermarkt) to the New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the next month or so.
