Plenty of eyebrows were raised – and a few insults thrown – when French manager Didier Deschamps confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele would be in the squad for the November set of international games.
The 22-year-old summer signing from Lyon didn’t finish the Sheffield United clash last weekend as he was substituted with what most thought was a groin injury, and naturally given the season we are having, fans wanted him at the training ground recovering and recuperating.
Building on Deschamps earlier words that he would probably miss the first match, but come into contention for the second one, Ndombele himself has spoken out about the injury and he confirmed that after scans showed there wasn’t a serious problem, it had just been put down to a bit of fatigue.
“I’ve had scans that said there was nothing serious, it was more fatigue. What is certain is that I am fit for Sunday. Thursday may be a little early, I do not think I’ll be 100 percent.”
The fatigue line certainly interested Spurs fans with many questioning how that could be the case if his fitness levels were right.
How on earth has he cost us £60m+ when he can't play twice in a week? Fantastically talented player, but that is shocking fitness.

Agree he is fit he just isn’t fit enough for the premier league it’s completely different to the french league not only that poch allegedly works the players incredibly hard so to adjust his fitness levels to the new work load and level of quality will take time

He's an amazing player, but looks so unfit. Once that's sorted out, he will be an ultimate force.

Unbelievable! At no other club would you get this – what the hell are this management team doing Monday to Friday? Cannot believe it will be allowed to carry on much longer!

We can only hope he returns fit, and fans are definitely seeing his qualities – we just need more of it.
Ndombele's Fitness Levels?
Understandable Still
Shouldn't Be An Issue In November
