“We Need To Look Forward” – Pochettino Focuses On Ajax As Spurs Slip Against West Ham

|

In today’s early Premier League kickoff Tottenham Hotspur were looking to make it back to back victories once again as we welcomed West Ham United to our new White Hart Lane Stadium.

With advantage ours in the battle for third place, with so few games left in the 2018/19 campaign whilst we have wriggle room, we certainly don’t want anymore slip-ups as we continue to cope with significant injury issues ruling out key players.

Unfortunately, it was a slip-up and it’s all eyes to other results now to see if our small advantage disappears after a 1-0 defeat.

Spurs weren’t at their best as it appears recent fixtures caught up with us today, but we should’ve walked out with at least a point given our wasted chances but Michail Antonio’s second half strike was enough to decide the result.

Speaking to the BBC following the fulltime whistle, manager Mauricio Pochettino said of the game.

“We did not manage the ball properly. It was a difficult game but in the second half we conceded a lot of space for them to counter-attack. But we need to look forward. We cannot stop to think about what we did not do today. We can’t dominate like against Brighton. The first half was good but we lost the ball too easily in the second half. We arrived for this game in a different condition and that was an important factor in the second half. It was really tough today.”
