Tottenham Hotspur got back to winning ways in the Premier League as we welcomed Brighton and Hove Albion to the new White Hart Lane in midweek, and other results on Wednesday evening also went our way to give us a boost in the battle for third place.
Today we welcomed London rivals West Ham United to our home soil for the day’s early kickoff and it’s fair to say we weren’t at our best and with some legginess to our play, it seems injuries and our recent run of fixtures just simply caught up with us.
The visitors started strongly and although they edged chances, there wasn’t much in the game in reality despite us not being up to standard. They got the all important goal in the 67th minute to take the win, but it could’ve been a point had Matt Janssen’s late effort not been cleared from the line.
Not what we wanted and our small advantage in third place disappears until we see what happens in other fixtures. Rest up, dust down and be better on Tuesday night when we welcome Ajax.
