Repeating last season’s fairytale run to the Champions League final was always going to be a tall order for Jose Mourinho, yet the Portuguese manager is seemingly focussing his attention on the man who crushed Tottenham’s European dream this year.
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing RB Leipzig’s Marcel Sabitzer; the 26-year-old would cost at least €50m.

Bild report that Spurs are interested in RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, who bagged a brace against the north London club in their Second-Leg 3-0 win against Tottenham, which saw Mourinho’s side crash out at the Round-of-16 stage of this season’s Champions League.
With the report stating that Leipzig will ask for €50m (£45.4m) for their Austrian playmaker, some Tottenham supporters on social media weren’t sold on the idea of Spurs signing Sabitzer, especially given the number of midfielders the north London side already have.
Here’s what a few Spurs fans had to say on Twitter about the rumour…
We don’t need him tho

As squad depth charts from Transfermarkt show, Tottenham are stacked in the central midfield position, which happens to be Sabitzer’s favoured role for Leipzig.
