Here’s an early welcome to the new writer.

Look forward to your themes/posts. COYS

Bergwijn gone. Never fitted in and fancied himself. Hopefully we can get Djed Spence….Levy procrastinating over a few quid.

  • PompeyYid says:

To be honest I would prefer Livramento (spelling) injured at the mo, was on loan at SOTS last season.

Mind add him to Spence then 2 good wb’s for that position.

A thankyou to Bergs, he has gone, never really given a chance, good luck with your future. COYS

  • Geofspurs says:

Bergwijn didn’t do much wrong. He had a good attitude, worked hard, and was a team player. Just not good enough according the the powers that be. Not his fault. Good luck to him.

  • TK says:

Glad to hear the site might be surviving. lol

When the new lad arrives, let’s see whether he should be sold to Manure or Arse. Maybe he’ll turn out to be a keeper (and not a GK).

But let’s feel free to comment on what needs commentary whether the new lad had made it the the focus of a thread or not. Power to the VS commentators!

Ox, Danny Winter, and now the lad (or lady) with as yet no face. Hope (s)he’s not a Wet Spam supporter, but that turned out okay with the last lad.

  • TK says:

By the way, I always liked Bergwijn. All the best to him. He seemed to put in full effort and was more talented than some were crediting.

  • Arky says:

I will only believe it when I see the new writer holding up the shirt.

  • TK says:

Lol Arky! who needs a new writer? Have the site put up an open-ended thread and we’ll find a way to argue with one another over some provocation that’s related to Spurs.

Resolved: The coming sight of the backside of BoJo will cure our problems in center backs and wings. He’s got a backside that can fit two center backs. Debate.

Resolved: Brexit presents a serious danger to English football that only left wing backs can solve. Debate.

Here’s hoping that Danny Winter’s team stumbles badly in the coming season–he supports Spam. ouch. Poor Danny. but he did a nice job here anyway. Debate.

Is Ndombele showing up in better phsycal condition and ready to compete? Finally? Perhaps he’s in shock that Lyon didn’t have any interest in him. All that talent wasted on suspect attitude. Debate.

Quite extraordinary. Levy has sanctioned early, decent signings instead of late, bargain buys. Well done Conte.
Just need to get Spence now and rid the club of the unwanted returners.
So looking forward to next season.

  • TK says:

    wentworth,

I hope we get Spence and a couple of addtional surprises. With Conte we likely have a one-year window to win something and then he’ll be off to somewhere else. Win now or perhaps not in my lifetime. lol. we still need creativity in midfield. a 20 year old Modric.

  • Geofspurs says:

Or even a 36 year old Modric!? 🙂

  • wentworth says:

Lo Celso, N’Dombele, Winks and Reguilon have all stayed behind so hopefully we can get funds for all four.
We are beginning to put together a decent squad.
Yes TK we need some extra creativity in midfield. There does not seem to be anyone on the radar.
Have we a youngster coming through?

  • TK says:

I fear our new creative midfielder might be Harry Kane, with Richarlison moving into the traditional center forward slot. Of course Kane might turn out to be the greatest creative midfielder in recent PL history.

I’d take a 36 year old Modric, but I’d like someone 20 who will improve each season instead of going all arthritic, like may of us us here have. lol.

My greatest Spurs desire now is to get the foundation in place for the next five years. This is a once-in-a-lifetime epoch with DL willing to buy some contracts to build a team on the pitch. Heretofore he’s only been interested in buying a pitch, with little attention to who wears short pants while running about on it.

Guns and Roses? if it helps to raise the funds to improve the team, okay. At least they’re a wee bit less geriatric than Sir Paul. Maybe his toffee fondness wouldn’t allow him to play in N17.

Anyway, the neglected need has been creativity in midfield, and that could come back to bite the bottom.

  • BelgianSpur says:

On the Bergwijn discussion, he seemed likeable enough but never really did enough to warrant more playing time.

We’ll always have the Leicester memories but that game aside, his impact was limited.

In fact, we can all remember some bad misses, with the Liverpool game coming to mind.

He was there under 3 different managers with very different philosophies, and could not convince any of them.

Kulusevski wasn’t given any more or any less chances but he has taken his opportunities in stride and had an immediate impact.

Comparatively speaking, Bergwijn has been ineffective and has been sold as a result.

Good luck Stevie but we are better off with Dejan.

As a side note, Toby is back in the Belgian league to finish out his career.

  • BelgianSpur says:

I reckon we’ll see Kulusevski played as a number 10 this season, when the game calls for it. 352 with Richarlison, Son and Kane up front and Kulusevski behind them.

Or Tanguy might be given an opportunity to prove his worth there if no solutions for him can be found during the TW.
