‘Unplayable’, ‘Fantastic’ – some fans laud Tottenham man after Crystal Palace win

|

Erik Lamela has enjoyed a bright start to the season with Tottenham, scoring and creating three goals in five Premier League appearances. The 27-year-old has been a regular under Mauricio Pochettino and is repaying his manager’s faith with a series of fine performances.

He was lauded by some supporters following Spurs’ 4-0 win over Crystal Palace – Lamela got himself on the scoresheet too. The Argentine international racked up 971 minutes of Premier League football last season and has already amassed 40% of that total just five games into the new campaign.

Against Palace, he played a full 90 minutes, made 64 touches, created one chance, made one tackle, scored one goal, completed 87*% of his 41 passes, made one interception, whipped in three crosses, made one successful dribble, drew one foul and made one clearance.

Due to injury woes, Lamela missed 19 Premier League games last season and played a full 90 minutes on only two occasions. He’s started all five matches in 2019/20, however, and has really hit the ground running.

Tottenham are third in the league with eight points from a possible 15, having ended their three-game winless drought Palace. Spurs next face Olympiacos in the Champions League (September 18) before travelling to Leicester City (September 21).
