Transfer News: Tottenham could be set to pocket a huge £25m for ace in January

|

Tottenham supporters have long known that Christian Eriksen is going to be leaving the club either this month or in the summer transfer window, and most will have made their peace with that. Things will be a whole lot easier to take, though, should the Lilywhites be able to take a fee for the departing Dane.

The fact that Eriksen’s deal expires at the end of the season means that he’s now free to discuss terms and agree on a contract with a new club, something that Jose Mourinho would be powerless to stop. However, it’s been reported that Inter Milan want to bring in Eriksen in the here and now.

The reports come from Corriere dello Sport, and it’s certainly something for Tottenham fans to be delighted with. The Italian club, lead by Antonio Conte, could be set to win Serie A this season, and it looks like they’re aiming to bolster their position in the title race with some new signings.

The report states that Eriksen could be signed before the end of the month and that they’ve set aside 25 million for the signing of the creative midfielder, as well as reported wages of between nine and ten million per year going into the pocket of the 27-year-old.

It’s stated:

‘Inter are serious for Christian Eriksen . And not just for the next season. Indeed, in Viale della Liberazione the prevailing idea is that it is easier to hook the Dane now than to contract with the expired Tottenham.’

Should Jose Mourinho bring Gareth Bale home?

Yes

No

If Mourinho can get rid of the Dane and bring in some sort of transfer fee for him, it would be a massive win-win for the club, as that money could be put towards a few new signings for the Lilywhites to get behind, even if Mourinho has been coy on incomings this month.
