Tottenham’s offer for Italian star – rejected by Roma

|

Tottenham seem to finally be getting into gear when it comes to making signings this January, however, though non of their offers for Pedro Porro and Leandro Trossard have come to fruition, just yet.

That trend has seemed to carry on as the Lilywhites have reportedly had an offer rejected for Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo. That is according to Sky Sports who state Tottenham’s offer was not ‘satisfactory’ for the Italian giants.

The offer made to Roma was reportedly a loan with an obligation to buy – a deal similar to the one that brought Cristian Romero to Spurs .

Despite rejecting Tottenham’s offer, Roma are said to be open to selling the 23-year-old as contract talks between the two parties have stalled recently – with Zaniolo’s deal set to expire in 2024 (via DiMarzio).

Spurs are reportedly not the only club interested in the Italian with West Ham and Borussia Dortmund both said to be interested as well – with £35 million likely to be enough to secure his services.

With it looking likely that Spurs will miss out on Leandro Trossard (more on that here), I can see Spurs making another offer for Zaniolo as the club desperately needs some more depth in the attacking third.
