Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting in their droves this week after footage of Erik Lamela scoring in training emerged on social media.
The Argentine can be seen beating four of his own teammates before blasting the ball into the net from inside the penalty area and it has caused a mixed reception.
Lamela has been restricted to just 936 minutes in the Premier League this campaign whilst he has also been absent from 15 more games in all competitions, via Transfermarkt.
Does Erik Lamela have a future at Spurs?
Yes, needs to start!
No, get rid ASAP!
This has mainly been down to persistent injury problems, leaving him with the nickname ‘sicknote’ by some supporters.
Which is why a few members of the Spurs faithful have been pondering just how long he’s going to be fit for.
Others have been absolutely drooling over the sublime effort as it certainly displays shades of his old form – in the 2015/16 season, the winger provided five goals and nine assists in the top-flight and that hasn’t been replicated since.
There were even some taking a dig at the defending, which is quite funny as it’s our own defenders that he’s up against in the training match, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise given Spurs rank as the joint-worst for goals conceded in the top ten.
Maybe we could be about to see the revival of Lamela in north London, don’t hold your breath, though.

Oh please , pound for pound heβs been our worst signing in the last 10 years , any other top side would have shipped him out years ago . Itβs enough already

7 years. I think we know what Erik is all about by now. Let’s not kid ourselves off the back of a training match goal.

Alasdair mate, weβve been saying that as a fan base for 6 years. Not proven us right once bar in the odd hot-streak. Bloke is stealing a living as much as i admire his work rate and dedication.
