Tottenham midfielder ‘back in full training’ ahead of Watford clash, he ‘could be involved’

|

BBC Sport says Giovani Lo Celso is ‘back in full training’ for Tottenham ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Watford and ‘could be involved’. The 23-year-old has been out of action since early-September with a hip injury but recovered during the international break.

Lo Celso’s last Tottenham appearance came against Arsenal on September 1. He missed their 4-0 win over Crystal Palace (September 14), 2-1 defeat to Leicester City (September 21), 2-1 win over Southampton (September 28) and 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion (October 5).

Mauricio Pochettino can’t afford any more dropped points in the Premier League after Tottenham fell to ninth in the table, so he has a selection headache in midfield. The Lilywhites have only 11 points from eight games and have lost two of their last three, so it may be time for a change in personnel.

The Spurs boss has Tanguy Ndombele, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Victor Wanyama and Lo Celso at his disposal. Whether the latter is fit enough to start remains to be seen. Pochettino may ease Lo Celso back onto the bench. Time will tell.
