The name Troy Parrott will be well known by now (I would hope) amongst the Tottenham Hotspur fanbase and the young 17-year-old talent shows no signs of slowing down as he again had another good, goalscoring midweek, for our Under 19 side as they took a point from Olympiakos in the Youth League.
It only took ten minutes for the newly capped Republic of Ireland Under 21 international to make his mark in the game as he latched onto a through ball from Rodel Richards, I believe, to give us the 1-0 advantage.
Our Greek opponents did level the scores before the end of the game, but as fans focused in on our young talent, many felt he was simply too good for this level now and needed an even greater challenge to ensure he continued to kick on.
Again, the watchword is patience though, we can’t expect too much from him too soon, and he’s certainly still making strides in his development, so all’s good at the moment for me – but like many, I hope he gets the Colchester chance.
He knows he’s in the right place. I expect he may get minutes against Colchester. No need to rush him through.

Impressed with Jamie Bowden. Captain, classy CM, lovely technique, good passer, always showing for the ball. Ryan Clarke also looking very skilful on left tho lacking a final ball/finish. Beyond that obviously Parrott a stand out. #THFC #U19s

Really poor quality game but to be expected at this level, Parrott getting more and more frustrated and coming deeper and deeper for a touch of the ball, I think a certain Harry Kane will respect how that feels, still 1-1 #COYS

Troy Parrott starting in the UEFA Youth League today and has already scored in 10 minutes, looks too good for this level but good for his match sharpness
