This pundit getting silenced the sweetest victory of all after last night

|

Tottenham are in the semi-finals of the Champions League – have we woken up yet?

What a game that was last night, from the start where we looked so strong to the second-half where we had to dug in, it truly was a game of unbelievable emotion.

To win, then, was fantastic overall in the tie and now we have a game against Ajax which really could go either way.

The best thing about the game, too? It made a lot of people rethink the ‘bottlers’ tag we have unfairly got ourselves for some reason.

We had great stomach for the fight last night, and Paul Merson was among those to be kept quiet.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, he said:

“I have to hold my hands up to Tottenham.

“To be 4-2 down and look like being out and come back. You could easily be disheartened. They weren’t really in the game. They had a couple of glimpses. But wow!”

Merson has been a critic of ours in terms of when the pressure is on and so that hopefully will show him we can do it and on a regular basis.

It was a great night, and this was one of the best things of all – silencing many.
