According to Bleacher Report via Ricky Sacks, Spur are interested in Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng, with Mourinho viewing the Bundesliga centre-back as an option to strengthen the Tottenham backline in the next transfer window as the north London club are in need of defensive reinforcements.
Despite being a starter for the German giants for nearly a decade, plenty of Spurs fans on social media were fuming with the link, with lots of supporters mad that Mourinho would target a defender who is in his thirties and seemingly approaching the end of his time at the top with Bayern.
Here’s what tons of Tottenham fans had to say on Twitter about the link to Boateng…
Willian, Lovren, Smalling & Boateng. This is worrrying if this is the direction we are heading.

Past it, way to slow for the PL.. Do not buy players that are over the hill (left overs from other clubs) like Willian/Lovren/Boateng
Kroos from Real Madrid would be good, still good.. maybe also Willian but again he said no to us once did he not..
Buy players aged 26-30 prime
