Apparently, Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen is not good enough for Real Madrid.

According to a report by Marca (via Sport Witness), Zinedine Zidane does not think our Danish maestro would help to improve his side this summer and is not even considered to be on their ‘Plan B’ of options should they fail to land Paul Pogba.

Eriksen is believed to have wanted a move to Real Madrid following certain comments he made about a ‘new challenge’ (Ekstra Bladet), however, it seems that is highly unlikely at the moment and he could be sticking around with us for a little while longer.

We are currently entering dangerous territory in regards to the Denmark international, as he has just one year left on his present deal and there has been no sign that he is ready to commit his future to us for any longer than the 12 months, despite an increased in confidence at Spurs (Goal).

To say Tottenham are in a catch-22 situation regarding this current situation might have to be considered a huge understatement.

However, it seems fans are not too upset that Real Madrid are not keen on Eriksen this summer and took to Twitter to share their reactions to the news.

Many of them admitted they were happy enough to keep him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for another season, whilst some felt it would be their gain and the Spanish giant’s loss.

Here are just some of their reactions…

  • As a Spurs fan I believe Eriksen has been his own worst enemy. He has not shown consistency like Hazard and he did nothing in the Champion League Final. Being 1-0 down he didn’t do what Hazard did for Chelsea
R M want fighters not prima donnas – which I would say he did for most of last season. Had he won the cup, there would be several European Clubs wanting him.
