Vital Spurs asked over the weekend if you would like to see the rumoured £7million arrival of Ruud van Nistelrooy at White Hart Lane? The result was an overwhelming yes with 85% saying the player was quality. Only 15% said no thanks and they were probably Manchester United fans! Full article: Click Here

Vital Spurs asked in a straight choice which striker you would prefer. A resounding 72% said Mido, subject of much debate on this site in the past week! Only 13% said both Mido and Jermain Defoe with Robbie Keane on the bench and the remaining 15% said they would rather Jermain Defoe.

Spurs have been linked with Clyde Athletics 19-year-old midfielder Craig Bryson. Clyde manager Graham Roberts said: ‘We’ll have to wait and see what happens…..Through friends down south, I know Tottenham and other clubs are watching him. The boy deserves to go to a higher level. He’s been playing exceptionally well in recent weeks, getting better with every game.’

The links go on! This time Dutch international Rafael van der Vaart. The 23-year-old winger currently plays for Hamburg. Looks like any time a Dutch player is unsettled, he’ll be linked with Martin Jol!

Spurs have also been linked to Lens striker Oliver Thomert. The 25-year-old, also linked with Man City, said: ‘I know Tottenham and Manchester City are keeping their eye on me. But I try not to think about it too much as the main thing for me is to finish this season well for Lens. I’ve not yet taken a decision as to my future.’

Reports in The Express say Spurs have a deal with Chelsea giving them first refusal on players who may be allowed to edit Stamford Bridge in the summer. Err, why? They claim the deal was made when Frank Arnesen moveed across London last year. Wayne Bridge and Glenn Johnson are apparently targets.

Arsene Wenger says Arsenal are closing in on 4th spot following their win over Liverpool yesterday. ‘It was an important win because it closed the gap on Tottenham to two points. It’s not only about us and Spurs though. Bolton and Blackburn are in there as well. Getting that fourth spot is in our own hands. We must show consistency. There are nine games to play and we can’t afford to waste any points.’

Talking about Robbie Keane, the 25-year-old told the News of the World this weekend ‘I knew I was never going to be leaving Spurs – I always knew that because we are a club going places and I want to be here. I just look to the future and the future is bright.’

Seems Jermain Defoe is worried about his England place, he said last week: ‘It’s normal for me to worry about the England squad because if I’m not playing I can’t show people what I can do,’ adding: ‘People are not talking about me. I’m not scoring goals. I’m not at the top of the scoring charts like I was last year and I miss seeing my name there. But every day I wake up in the morning and think how close the World Cup’s getting.’ He also admits ‘It’s not been easy. But you have to be professional.’

Doomed if we do, doomed if we don’t? A UEFA spokesman confirmed: ?We changed the rules last summer after Liverpool won the Champions League. So if Arsenal won the Champions League, they would go directly into the group stages next season. The fourth-placed English team would, instead, go into the UEFA Cup.? Our current poll is asking who, or what, is responsible for our dismal recent run of results, Martin Jol, Paul Stalteri, Edgar Davids, Mido’s absence, collective lack of belief/quality or none of the above. The early leading option is a collective lack of self belief/quality.
