Spurs reserves beat West Ham 2-1 at West Ham. Reid played the full 90 minutes and scored a stunning 30 yard screamer.

Martin Jol has praised loan signing Mido. ‘I like his mentality during games. Even when he’s losing headers or losing possession because of a bad touch his mentality remains 100% – He is 22 years of age but everyone thinks he’s 28 or something like that.’ The Egyptian scored his first Spurs goal with a header against Everton last weekend. Jol added: ‘He is important for us because he?s involved in 50% of our goals with assists and if he gets crosses, you will all see he’s one of the best in Europe because he’s a very good finisher with his head. He just hasn’t had that many crosses this season but we’re working on that.’

The future of Robbie Keane is again being questionned (yawn) as Jol looks to sign Mido permanently. Spurs reportedly have an option to sign Mido permanently at any stage during his 18-month loan from Roma. Reports suggest Roma want 6million Euros for him.

Ledley King has said he still wants to break into the centre back role for England ‘I haven’t given up on breaking into the team as a centre-back. That is my best position and I think I can do a job there at international level. I have always enjoyed it when I’ve played in midfield, but it isn’t my strongest position and I still have a lot of things to learn about the role. Obviously I’ll play wherever I am asked to play for England. It’s great just being out there on the pitch for important matches and if I can do a job in a few positions then maybe that will help me when the manager is picking his squad for the World Cup.’

Spurs and England No 1 Paul Robinson said he was amazed at the fans singing happy birthday to him for his 26th! ‘It was unbelievable, something I’ve never experienced before. I’ve never known support like this. They are fantastic. I’d just like to tell them that it really means a lot to me, to stay behind me and the rest of the lads and hopefully we’ll have something to show for it at the end of the season.’

Jermaine Jenas says Spurs are about to take over from Arsenal as the main team in London. The 22 year old £7million signing said: ‘It’s been a while since Spurs have been the dominant north London side. We’ve got a couple of big games coming up, at Manchester United next week and then Arsenal the week after, and hopefully wecan show some character and get the right results.’
