The teenage winger made his first start for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the 2019/20 campaign in a 3-0 win against League Two side Salford City, with Clarke playing 70 minutes for the Championship side before coming off as a substitute.
Although the future Spurs man was unable to get on the scoresheet or register an assist, there was enough in his performance for Tottenham fans to be excited about the winger and his potential impact on the squad in the future as supporters took to social media to praise Clarke.
Here is what some Tottenham fans had to say about Clarke on Twitter following his first start of the season…

Most definitely, bags of pace. Poch will mould him into a great attacker

Clarke Leeds best player so far. Always moving. Can run at a player. Looks at ease playing in a pich-esque system #thfc

Tricky.
Young and inconsistent, in and out the game.
Needs a year then a bit of Poch.
Probably needs and stone in weight as well.— Dave Ellis (@fullback03) August 13, 2019
Update at Half Time for Clarke
– The kid is raw talent, excited for him
– Goalline header save
– Started at RW then moved to LW halfway through
– Had a great hit from the edge of the box that was saved by the Salford keeper.
– Great attacking threat for Leeds so far.— Cooper (@AnAmericanSpur) August 13, 2019

The winger was Spurs first signing of the summer transfer window but was immediately loaned back to Leeds.
