Following a mixed January transfer deadline day, it was all eyes to Sunday’s clash with Manchester City and few Tottenham Hotspur fans would’ve put a bet on what we saw over the 90 minutes.
Having got back to winning ways in the Premier League in the clash against Norwich City, there was the mixed FA Cup Southampton clash, but few would’ve expected us to beat City 2-0 with goals coming from debutant Steven Berwijn and Son Heung-Min in the second half of the game.
Pep Guardiola’s side utterly dominated the game but being wasteful with their own efforts, and us converting two of the three chances we had – well it was enough for the win and all three points but the game did turn on them going down to ten me on the hour mark as Zinchenko saw red for two bookable offences.

It could’ve all been different though had they scored from their first half penalty, but in taking four minutes to decide the spot kick and then further shambles as VAR investigated whether Loris had given away another penalty pursuing the rebound – that will definitely take the headlines as will the resulting fracas between both sets of players.
There were certainly other talking points as well but back up into fifth place we go.
