Spurs Star Remains Confident International Injury Won’t Be An Issue As We Get Back To PL Action

|

Eagle eyed Tottenham Hotspur fans, had they been watching Denmark on Tuesday evening as they faced off against Luxembourg in a friendly, would noticed that Christian Eriksen took a bit of a whack during the first half of the game, and was substituted at the half time break.

Having completed the opening 45 minutes, Eriksen then watched on during the second half as Denmark built on their advantage to take a 2-0 victory by the full time whistle, and in the after game interviews, our 27-year-old revealed that he had simply sustained some good bruising to his thigh, but he didn’t believe it would keep him out of this Saturday’s clash with Watford.

With ongoing contractual issues with the attacking midfielder, fans are becoming more mixed about his performances for us, especially as he’s only contributed one goal and one assist as we struggle in the first half of the 2019/20 campaign, and I can only imagine that some would prefer manager Mauricio Pochettino to make a twist in his selection here – but on his day we all know what he’s capable of.

Speaking to Danish outlet BT, he explained.

“I got a bruised thigh. It really hurt in the situation. But I don’t think it’s particularly bad, so hopefully I can play again on Saturday.”

We’ll have to wait for the official injury update and see what’s what.
