Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Everton and Marco Silva to our new White Hart Lane Stadium for today’s Premier League curtain closer for the 2018/19 campaign.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino was looking to close the season out in style and victory was absolutely guarantee our top four position for the year, and then all our attentions can turn to the upcoming Champions League final against Liverpool.
It was a lively and Dier start for Everton as Eric opened the scoring three minutes into the game, but it was a largely poor affair from our point of view as they had the better chances. The visitors rallied in the second period to take a 2-1 advantage, but Christian Eriksen struck with 15 minutes remaining to ensure we avoided defeat and the point of course was all we needed to mathematically secure our place in the top four.
We didn’t snare third place, but given the year we’ve had and our injury problems, few will care about that in reality.
Now rest up and recovery properly for one more last big effort.
