With ongoing speculation surrounding the future of Tottenham Hotspur centre-half Toby Alderweireld, with reports again circulating this week that the club are resigned to losing him to Manchester United when his release fee kicks in at the end of the season, there is also a further claim that we have now agreed a deal in principle for Sampdoria centre-half Joachim Andersen.
22-year-old Andersen is certainly not a new name on the rumour mill and he’s been linked in both transfer windows so far and the stories about the Danish youth international just aren’t going away.
Italian outlet Tuttosport are suggesting that a ‘fee in principle’ arrangement has been struck between Spurs and the Serie A club for his services next summer, with some claims that the fee will be 25 million Euros.
Like most of the speculation about Andersen, there’s very little concrete information here and subsequent reports simply lean on a word or two and repeat the players’ back history. With Alderweireld again hitting the headlines, plus Andersen’s maiden senior call up for the March international window, by the end of today I’d expect to see his name linked with around 10 top European sides as the rumour mill continues to feed itself.
Spending some time on Google looking at various iterations the claims seem to be a repeat of claims of a meeting from February, so Spurs fans shouldn’t be getting too excited yet.
