Spurs linked with potential Qatari investment

|

Shock news has emerged this afternoon, with rumours of Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) potentially being interested in investing in Tottenham Hotspur.

The story broke this afternoon, with Ben Jacobs from CBS Sports (a pretty reliable source) stating that there has been talks between the two parties with Nasser Al-Khelaifi (yes you did read that right, the PSG chairman) reportedly already having met with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy earlier this week to hold an exploratory meeting.

Jacobs, states that the talks are at a very early stage with QSI weighing up all there options, with the investment group said to be interested in investing in Europe aswell as South America.

You could be surprised at the fact QSI are interested in Spurs with a footballing giants such as Liverpool and Manchester United currently on the market. In the report, Jacobs does not mention whether there has been any talks with the Red Devils but does state there has been no talks with Liverpool, at this moment in time.

Following the story being released, Alasdair Gold has stated (via his YouTube channel) that there is no truth behind the rumours linking the club with QSI but does also go on to say that most clubs would likely say that about preliminary financial discussions that may not go anywhere.

Despite the rumours being denied, the Spurs fanbase seem to be getting very excited at the idea of Qatari investment, with many Spurs fans undoubtedly now dreaming of signing mega stars like Neymar and Kylian Mbappe – part of me however does not see that happening…
