Spurs Keen On Croatian Midfield Enforcer As Part of £150m Summer Overhaul

|

The club are monitoring the situation of Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic very closely, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Croatian international has been named as one of four possible targets as Mauricio Pochettino looks to strengthen his squad in the summer.

The other players reported to be on the manager’s wishlist are Wilfried Zaha, Anthony Martial and Ryan Sessegnon. Reporter Matt Law suggests that spending on these players could reach £150m.

However, Poch is looking for reassurances from the club’s board before committing his future. He is concerned that the investment in the stadium could hamper his transfer plans.

While the other three names on the list have been mentioned before, Kovacic is a new one. The 24-year-old is used in a squad rotation system by Real boss Zinedine Zidane.

The holding midfield player has played 35 times in all competitions this season, but he has started just 21 times for the La Liga club.
