Spurs in South Korea – Part II

|

For those of you that missed it, here is a list of those that boarded the arduous flight to South Korea late this weekend, as released by the club Sunday evening:

Goalkeepers (4):
Hugo Lloris
Fraser Forster
Brandon Austin
Josh Keeley

Defenders (7):
Davinson Sanchez
Cristian Romero
Eric Dier
Japhet Tanganga
Malachi Fagan-Walcott
Ben Davies
Charlie Sayers

Wing-backs/Fullbacks (4):
Ryan Sessegnon
Ivan Perisic
Matt Doherty
Emerson Royal

Midfielders (6):
Rodrigo Bentancur
Yves Bissouma
Pape Matar Sarr
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Oliver Skipp
Harvey White

Forwards (7):
Bryan Gil
Dejan Kulusevski
Richarlison
Harry Kane
Troy Parrott
Lucas Moura
Heung-Min Son

The more eagle-eyed readers will have no doubt noted some key absentees. Indeed, the club have reported how Sergio Reguilon, Harry Winks, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy N’dombele will remain at Hotspur Way to continue their pre-season preparations on their own. One would presume this is in anticipation of moves away from the club, whilst Joe Rodon unfortunately misses out due to illness, as does new signing Clement Lenglet, who signed for the club too late to receive a VISA to travel. Many followers will also likely be disappointed at the absences of Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett, who have been given extended leave following their successful excursions at the U19 Euro championships with England. However, with more pre-season matches to come, and with the duo heavily featuring in matchday squads over the past 18 months, it is reasonable to assume we’ll get a good look at them before they earn a loan move ahead of the new season.

I’m glad to see the club is including Bryan Gil. If he can get used to the physical nature of football in England, he might be quite a player. The lad can control the ball on his foot, almost like a Brazilian on a beach. I’d really like to see him come good.
