A firm favourite for the tabloids and rumour mill websites when it comes to transfer speculation at Tottenham Hotspur has long been Paris-Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The 23-year-old French international was linked again over the summer with some firm ‘exclusives’ and we saw a return in the January transfer window to stories, but as ever nothing has come of it.
Simply put, those fans who questioned his attitude and how that would mix with what manager Mauricio Pochettino wants from players, were always right. This story just didn’t seem to fit the kind of move we would expect Poch to make – but that’s of course not downplaying his ability on a football pitch, as on that front he would be a keen addition in my humble.
But it was never likely to happen and now it’s been reported that the player has finally signed a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid.
Given I doubt we really had an interest here, hopefully, it should stop the nonsense rumours now but fans won’t be surprised that some outlets are still angling that we’ve lost out here, or failed in our chase on the back of the pre-contract claims.
It won’t be long before a new name replaces him, no doubt.
