3 Shots, 1 Key Pass & 2 Tackles Sees Spurs Man Take MotM Following Gutting Liverpool Defeat

There’s no denying Tottenham Hotspur started slowly in the game against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, and the hosts got their reward as they took the lead. We grew into the game though and a much improved second half showing saw us get back on level terms as Lucas Moura found the back of the net.

With the game appearing to edge our way as Liverpool went for the win, we had good chances on the counter-attack to put them to bed, but sadly for us a late corner saw Hugo Lloris push the ball onto Toby Alderweireld and he was credited with the own goal that send all three points in their direction.

That was a bitter one to swallow and statistics website Whoscored reflected how tight the game was with their player ratings. Each side only had three players with seven-plus scores, but our goalscorer took their star man award with a rating of 7.87.

Completing the top five best performers on the day were Kieran Trippier (7.06), Christian Eriksen (7.00), Davinson Sanchez (6.67) and Danny Rose (6.30).

Fans will have their own thoughts on those ratings though.
