Report: Tottenham linked with £25m forward, ‘special relationship’ could be key

|

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are interested in Hakim Ziyech and are considering a move for the Ajax forward this summer. The two clubs’ ‘special relationship’ could be key to a transfer being agreed, with Spurs having signed a number of players from the Dutch giants in recent years.

Ziyech is on the shortlist of a number of sides after setting the Eredivisie alight this season. The 26-year-old has scored 16 goals and made 12 assists in 27 league games. He’s created 101 chances, made 66 successful dribbles (44%), averaged 50 passes-per-game with 74% accuracy and has averaged a tackle (44) or interception (25) every 32 minutes.

The Moroccan international’s release clause is reportedly £25m. Despite the lofty valuation, he’d improve the Tottenham squad considerably. Only Harry Kane (17) has scored more goals than Ziyech and only Christian Eriksen (12) has matched his assist tally. There’s no player in the Tottenham side to have created as many chances or made as many successful dribbles as the forward.

Tottenham are likely to have stiff competition to sign the Ajax star this summer with numerous European giants being credited with an interest.
