Report: Jose Mourinho prepared to sell 29-cap international in the summer

|

Tottenham are reportedly prepared to let left-back Danny Rose leave the club at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old is currently on loan at Newcastle United after making the move to Tyneside in January and has made four starts with one appearance from the bench for Steve Bruce’s side.

However, Premier League football has been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and said that football will not take place until at least April 30th, where the national situation will be assessed.

It is uncertain what will happen to the rest of Rose’s stint at the Magpies, that’s if the season does go past June 1st as expected.

A report in The Northern Echo suggested that Spurs are “desperate” to sell the defender and manager Jose Mourinho is keen to move a number of players on to make way for his own signings at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

What should happen to Danny Rose?

Keep him

Sell him

It adds that Rose has been happy living back up north after a previous loan stint at Sunderland, which would be a major incentive in him moving permanently to St James’ Park.

The 29-cap England international has with been us since 2007 after signing for £1m from Leeds United and has scored 10 goals and provided 29 assists in 214 appearances.

After reports emerged of a dispute between Rose and Mourinho, fans sided with the boss and believed that the veteran should leave the club.

As much as I like Danny Rose, I believe that we need to start moving forward as a club by improving the squad. We’ve started well by bringing in Giovani Lo Celso, who has been promising. Now Mourinho needs to start bringing some of his own players in to stamp his authority on his team.

He hasn’t kept himself out of the news. For me, he has started to present himself as a bad egg in our camp. As a result, it would be best for both parties if he was to make the move to Newcastle permanent.
