Report: Ex-Spurs ace believes this 8G/21A wizard will be a ‘gamechanger’ of a signing for club

Darren Bent has given his backing in Tottenham going in for Ajax superstar Hakim Ziyech following recent reports.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Spurs attacker admitted that he is a fan of the Moroccan international and that Tottenham signing the 26-year-old forward would be a big coup for the club with the likes of Arsenal also reportedly interested in Ziyech.

CalcioMercato report that the Eredivisie winger, who has scored eight goals and registered a staggering 21 assists in all competitions this season as stats from Transfermarkt show, is keen on leaving Ajax this month despite renewing his contract with the Dutch giants in the summer.

Will Tottenham be active in the January window?

Yes! We have to be!

No! Daniel Levy won't spend

Bent said when asked if he believes Ziyech will be a good signing for Spurs: “Yeah of course. But they do need someone who is going to stick the ball in the back of the net as Harry Kane is out. So yeah, I mean like him, he was brilliant for Ajax last season, he’s been good for them. Obviously, it’ll be nice to have him on the right, Son on the left, and a centre-forward between them. So yeah that will be a gamechanger offensively going forward.”

Ziyech was vital last season for Ajax in their clinching of the Netherlands domestic double as well as their journey to the Champions League semi-finals, where we all know what happened in that famous night in Amsterdam for Tottenham.

With the Moroccan attacker seemingly keen on leaving Holland sooner rather than later, Spurs could make a major statement going in for the Ajax star if the north London side can muster the cash for the winger.

Jose Mourinho is seemingly keen on improving Tottenham with new players, and in Ziyech, Spurs will have a name that will be a dramatic improvement in their attack.
