Tottenham Hotspur’s 2019/20 campaign shows no signs of improving any time soon as late yesterday evening I noticed that one of our stars for 2018/19 – Moussa Sissoko – had now joined Harry Kane on the sidelines following surgery on a medial collateral ligament.

The 30-year-old French international sustained the injury during our game against Southampton on New Year’s Day and having missed the draw against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup last weekend with assessments and scans ongoing, the club confirmed yesterday that he had gone under the knife and he’s now set for a three spell out as he completes his rehabilitation and recovery work.

It’s expected at this stage that he will return to training in early April and at least get some kind of run out before the end of the campaign as all eyes then naturally turn to next season.

Given how important a player Sissoko has become for us in recent times there were plenty of well wishes from fans who reacted to the news, but obviously there’s an element of Groundhog Day to the injury as well.

Will Spurs Replace Him?
