Report: European juggernauts eye Spurs star who ‘prefers’ summer departure to Mourinho rebuild

|

Juventus and Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move for Harry Kane this summer, with the England captain’s future at Tottenham looking increasingly uncertain.

According to AS, the 26-year-old striker is on the shortlist for both European giants, while a report from Tuttosport via Sport Witness earlier this week claimed that Juventus will be willing to offer Paulo Dybala to Spurs in exchange for Kane.

The Argentine attacker came close to joining Tottenham in last summer’s transfer window on Deadline Day only to reject a potential move at the last minute, and another saga involving the £81million-rated ace may now be on its way.

Goal also reported earlier this month that Kane ‘prefers’ a move away from Tottenham rather than going through another rebuilding period, this time with Jose Mourinho at the helm, with the report stating that the striker is ‘reluctant’ to sit and wait for silverware to potentially come to north London.

Will Harry Kane leave Tottenham this summer?

Yes

No

The two European juggernauts are expected to go big in the summer transfer window, with Juventus and Real Madrid currently in sketchy positions in their respective leagues before the coronavirus outbreak suspended both Serie A and La Liga, and Kane has seemingly made himself available ahead of the summer transfer window.

Although the postponement of the Premier League has gifted Spurs valuable time for the likes of Kane, Heung-min Son and Moussa Sissoko to return from injury, a lack of silverware to compete for could mean that the Tottenham academy product might be tempted by a move to a club where trophies are easier to come by.

While the north London club have only won just the one honour this century in the form of the 2007/08 League Cup, Real have won four Champions League titles, two La Liga crowns and three UEFA Super Cups in the years since. Juve, on the other hand, have claimed eight-straight Serie A titles between 2011/12 and 2018/19.

With Kane’s mindset now seemingly set on winning silverware, the England international could well be a prime target for several big clubs around the continent, and with Juventus and Real Madrid now registered as interested in the striker, Tottenham could have a bidding war on their hands for the attacker.
