Report: Christian Eriksen transfer update

|

According to Calciomercato, Juventus are interested in Christian Eriksen and could make a move for the Tottenham midfielder this summer. The Serie A outfit have already signed Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal on a free transfer and want another Premier League star to bolster their midfield.

Eriksen has scored and created 19 goals in 38 games in all competitions this season. The Sun believe he has a £200m asking price, but such a figure is completely inaccurate given his contract situation. The Danish international could be a free agent in 2020 and is no closer to putting pen to paper on an extension.

No club would pay close to £200m, nor are Tottenham stupid enough to request 230% of their record-departure fee – Gareth Bale to Real Madrid for £85m. It’s more likely the Lilywhites would accept closer to his market value of £72m.

Eriksen is one of the best players in the Premier League but his contract brings his value down as Spurs are desperate to cash in rather than lose him for nothing. Juventus are looking to capitalise on the situation, but there will be one of many clubs interested this summer.

There could lead to a bidding war when the season comes to a close, but how much money Tottenham are willing to accept for Eriksen remains to be seen.
