After yesterday’s performance, Champions League football looks more like an unrealistic target that it did last week, and even then we didn’t have too much faith in Spurs qualifying.
Just a couple days before the game, Harry Kane was reportedly ready to hand in a transfer request should we not qualify for the competition, and that now looks almost like an inevitability.
What the worry is now though, is will the likes of Heung-min Son, who scored Spurs’ sole goal against United, follow suit and pursue a transfer to elsewhere?
Fortunately for us fans, it seems Son still has hope that we can get into the top 4, and he is still determined to help get us there.
“I know it’s always easy to say, ‘let’s be positive’ or ‘we’ll do our best’ but I really want to finish well this season,” said Son, speaking to the official Tottenham website.

“We’re six points behind the top four, so we have to get results and wait for the other teams to drop points, but we have to do our best and take big, big responsibility for the rest of the season.”
Son scored his 14th Premier League goal yesterday as he brilliantly timed his run to tap home after Kane’s cute ball found Lucas Moura who squared across to the Korean to finish.
“I really don’t know what to say, I’m really sorry about it and feel bad,” said Son, who was visibly upset and frustrated.
"I can't believe how long Son stayed down on the floor for – shocking."

“There has always been passion from outside this stadium, and those who support us I know are really, really disappointed. I think they’re even more disappointed than us, so I feel really bad and sorry about it.
“It’s about the results. If we win, I’m really happy and if we lose, I’m really down for two or three days. So, what can I say? We have to bounce back strong next Friday.”
Another matchday and more abhorrent racial abuse suffered by one of our players. This has again been reported to the platforms and we shall now undertake a full review alongside the Premier League to determine the most effective action moving forward.

The Korean midfielder received some horrible racist abuse on social media again after the game, adding further proof that racism has not been kicked out in the sport and it’s vile and disgusting and has no place in our game or in society.
