With the announcement this morning that Jose Mourinho would be taking over as Spurs manager on a four year deal, rumours have already started to rise about who the new manager will want to bring in or let go during the January transfer window.
Mourinho has a reputation for recruiting former players, at Manchester United he brought in Nemanja Matic from Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku from Everton, both of who he managed in different spells at Chelsea in 2017. He also brought in Samuel Eto’o, Zlatan Ibrohimovic and Ricardo Carvalho at two or more clubs he worked at.
Along with this reputation, historically, Mourinho likes to set up his teams to play defensively and with a combative defensive midfielder and a strong back four which again has raised questions about who he may be looking to let go or transfer in January.
Spurs fans have taken to twitter since Mourinho’s appointment to make their transfer predictions for the coming months.
Matic to spurs in Jan then 🙏

Will Jose get the funds from Levy to sign the players that all fit into his style? Aside from Bruno Fernandes (Portuguese like Mou) with release clause of £35m, which other top players can Spurs get below £70m?

Fernandes would make sense, as Spurs have already been looking at him. Maybe Ake and Dybala as well. Can't see him getting someone Spurs have not been looking at already, Levy won't relinquish control to anyone, not even Mou

In all this Jose boom with Spurs players rising and other potential transfer targets, Bale has to be No. 1 in my eyes. 100% Mourinho buy, big name, ex-Spurs and particularly what happened last night with the flag. Incoming in January! #footballindex
