Opinion: Tottenham won’t sign 21-year-old in January despite Harry Kane injury

|

According to The Sun, Tottenham are one of three Premier League sides keeping tabs on Marcus Thuram, with Arsenal and Manchester United being linked with his signature. Spurs are believed to have sent scouts to watch the EA Guingamp striker who has been in fine form in Ligue 1 this season, scoring seven goals in 16 games.

Mauricio Pochettino needs a striker after losing Harry Kane to injury for two months, but Thuram might be too young and inexperienced to gamble on. The 21-year-old made 43 appearances for FC Sochaux before his 2017-move to Guingamp, but he’d only scored one goal at the time.

Thuram has netted 13 goals in 92 games in France which puts into perspective how quickly he’s risen to prominence in the last six months. In addition to being a striker, the Frenchman is capable of playing on either flank and has done well to shine in a struggling Guingamp side.

The Ligue 1 outfit are currently bottom and four points adrift of safety. Thuram might be easy to convince away from the Stade de Roudourou as a result, but it may not be to join Tottenham.
