Tottenham have been linked with a move for Vedat Muriqi and were scouting the 25-year-old during the international break, but whether they’ll have any success in procuring his signature in January remains to be seen. Muriqi only joined Fenerbahce in July and has been in sensational form, so it’s hard to see the Super Lig outfit sanctioning his sale midway into his debut season.
The Kosovan international has scored two goals in four games while contributing four goals in his last two international appearances. Muriqi was signed by Fener after scoring and creating 23 Super Lig goals for Caykur Rizespor last season, so he could be useful for Tottenham.
After selling Vincent Janssen and releasing Fernando Llorente over the summer, Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino were keen to bring in at least one attacker to offset the loss. They failed to sign Paulo Dybala, however, and may have to turn their attentions elsewhere.
Fener only paid around £3m to sign the centre-forward and are likely to request a lot more money to sell him given his form. Whether Muriqi would settle for being subsidiary to Harry Kane remains to be seen too. Nevertheless, he’s a player worth looking for Spurs. The Lilywhites could monitor his progress in the coming months before weighing up their options.
