News: Tottenham want “Next Ibrahimovic”

|

Reports in Turkey suggest that Tottenham Hotspur intend to sign the “Next Zlatan Ibrahimovic.”

Vedat Muriqi, who plays for Fenerbahce, is seen by the media in his country as the man who will replace Zlatan on the world stage.

The 25-year-old, who represents Kosovo, scored once and assisted twice in his country’s 5-3 defeat to England on Tuesday.

Muriqi set up Valon Berisha’s first-minute strike – as he picked up on an awful error from Michael Keane and laid the ball off to the Lazio man who lifted the ball over Jordan Pickford.

It may have looked like a simple pass from a mistake, but the weight on the ball was beautiful, and it allowed Berisha to fire home with his first touch.

His goal came from the penalty spot, and it was his fifth for his country, but Pickford got hands to the ball and will be disappointed he could not keep it out.

However, the best moment of the game for the 25-year-old came at the beginning of the second half when he picked out Berisha with a beautiful ball that allowed his teammate to score his second of the evening.

Muriqi also has two goals in his first three Super Lig appearances, so the man is on form.

Tuesday night may well have been the first time some Tottenham fans have seen Muriqi but should have liked what they saw.

He was strong on the ball and linked up with his teammates brilliantly – if they were to bring him in January, then he could prove to be the perfect foil for Harry Kane.
